| Dang, it really has been a while. Firstly, Amanda, sorry I didn't put up this info when you wanted, I got overwhelmed by more thanksgiving-y stuff than I was expecting and forgot to put it up. If it's too late for this info to be helpful, oh well. If not...yay! Busy---Mondays: 12 to 2 & 6 to 9. Tuesdays: 12:30 to 5. Wednesdays: 12 to 2. Thursdays: Same as Tue Free---December 23 to January 23. After Jan 23rd is unknown. ------------------------------- Ok, on to other stuff. College winding down. I have two reports, one in Zoology and one in Criminal Justice. They're both huge...and I have no idea when either of them are due. Ah well, I've got double A's, so hopefully even if I fail them miserably, I won't fail the class. I'm super looking foward to the Aquabats concert. I'm actually extremely surprised my parents let me go. They get paranoid when I go to Santa Cruz, so I thought San Fran was out of the question. Huh, whatever. Thanksgiving is finally over. Thank GOD. First the snobby rich people with their cheerleader spawning ground, then my Grandma's house where all she had was sandwiches...without the bread, and I had to babysit my brat of a cousin. Then my Grandpa's house, where I met some relatives I didn't even know I had....and I wish I didn't. I don't understand why people are incapable of carrying on a simple conversation without acting like a complete a-hole. Ah, whatever, it's over. Luckily, over the weekend, I got to see American Gangster with ma' buddies, and I gotta say, it was awesome. It was the first 3 hour long movie I sat through without falling asleep since Lord of the Rings. Ah well, I'm off the do stuff....have fun doing your stuff! GRIEVOUS RULES!! | | |
| PSWell, the last five days have been a bit of a blur, since I've been heavily sedated the whole time, but mainly I've just been sitting on the couched, hunched over in pain, watching tv, so there's not much to tell. I had my wisdom teeth removed finally, and I'd be dead now if not for Vicadin. In their pity of my lamecable situation, my parents bought me Halo 3 (which I'm disgusted to say is actually good) and Resident Evil 4 for the Wii (which makes a fun game even funner). On Sunday ma friends came over, and the scary thing is, when I woke up the next morning...I couldn't remember a lot of what happened, so I was struck by the irrational fear that I'd done something that I should be regretting, but couldn't, having forgotten it. Anyway, the stuff I do remember was that we played video games, stared at pictures on Zeek's laptop that I couldn't see because my eyesight is horrible, but were apparently very funny, and then watched Ferngully, which I'd remembered from about ten years ago, and that I'd liked it, but I couldn't remember hardly anything about it, and it wasn't helped by the fact that other memories from a less interesting movie by the name of Thumbelina (sp??) kept cropping up. Well, Ferngully was actually enjoyable, regardless of the very strong hippy overtones. But now, I'm finally getting over the surgery pains. My jaw is mending, the bone is regrowing, so I can leave the house again. Probably by this weekend I'll be back to normal eating habits, and I can continue bugging my parents to let me sign up for my Driver's Test. I'm sure I can pass it, I just gotta set a date aside for it. GRIEVOUS RULES!! PS World of Warcraft has 10 million members. This number is growing by a million every 3 months. There are only so many people on the planet. Logic dictates that the entire populace will play WoW sooner or later. Give up now and save yourself, and your loved ones, the pain. Prepare to be assimilated. | | |
| Alright, lessee, what's been happening lately... In the absence of my beloved Bioshock (heh heh, alliteration), I have begun playing World of Warcraft with renewed vigor. However, I have made a pact to never ever let myself put the virtual world before the real world ever again. There was a brief period of time when I would actually opt for playing WoW than doing things with people in person, and such a thought scares the daylights out of me. Lessee, I saw the Horrorpops with Em and Am the other day, extremely loud, and crowded, and distorted, and hot, and stuffy.....but good music. So it was fun. I saw a play " I love you, You're Perfect, Now Change" with the aforementioned girls yesterday, and it was a most enjoyable experience. I love the theater, and the play was genuinely funny in many places. It got a bit too serious near the end, and after such riotous humor, it seemed very out of place, but overall, it was a good play. College is great, the students are so much smarter and into what they're doing, that coming out of high school, it's tantamount to being initiated into a foreign county. Some of the teachers are a bit strange, but they definitely know their subjects, and are always willing to answer questions in detail, so that's kewl. This is the first time where I'm actually hoping for the next semester, not to get these classes over with, but to have the chance to pick even more classes. Finally, I've been reading through the Harry Potter series from beginning to end. I just finished the fifth one. I still like the fourth one the best, then third, then second, then first, with the other 3 all falling off the chart as not particularly enjoyable. It's strange how a book can have such interesting characters (Moody, Lupin, Snape, Dobby) that are so cool to read about, and at the same time be completely focused on characters that are so incredibly annoying to see fall into the exact same pitfalls of infuriating behavior over and over again (Harry, Hermione, Malfoy). Still, the stories were interesting enough that I read the entire series, so it definitely is above average writing, but the few annoying characters that should have shown some character development dragged it down. .....heh, I sound like a critic. Anyway, hope you guys are all doing well. Call me if you wanna hang out, and I shall reciprocate. GRIEVOUS RULES!! PS Here's another reason why I love Penny Arcade

| I'm almost positive by now that you've all played the Bioshock demo now, so I feel no need to go into the many reasons why this game has been on my "Top 3 Games I'd Kill For" for the last year. It's just annoying that it comes out that day I have to start Hartnell. Yes, that's right, I start a full week before you MPC prats. *sniff* It's a conspiracy. Hopefully I'll survive. Oh, and I did research that "Platinum" version of Dead Rising. Turns out it's just like one of those "Greatest Hits" systems. Some extra label to throw on a game to let the ignoramuses know that this truly is a good game. GRIEVOUS RULES!! PS Penny Arcade feels that same way I do: "It is my intention to secure two copies of the game, entire - one Collectors' edition, and one exclusively to shove up Roger Ebert's ass. If Bioshock isn't "art," then art is the poorer for it." | | |
